Our
group training session will tenatively be Tuesday
and Thursday nights after work, launching between 4:30
and 5:00pm. We also try to get out
on a weekend
now
and then, family priority time permitting. Our weekday
training at this time will be on the Trinity River.
We try
to launch boats for
our practices at the respected time
sharp from the McInnish Boat ramp. (2335 Sandy Lake
Rd, Carrollton, Tx
75006) We do our best to practice on
these days but please check to be
sure.
The
seasoned paddlers
travel upstream and back 6 to 8
miles during a workout while
practicing wake
riding,
starts, proper technique and
generally building a strong
base
of endurance. While our newcomers will either stay
right in front of
the launch site or begin to travel
upstream with a
veteran team at
their side. The map of
our practice course is basiclly going to be up
and back
on part of what is our "Elm Fork Regata" race
course SEEN HERE.
Periodically, on weekends, early
morning, we launch at the
Green Belt 428 location. SEEN HERE Tipically we head to
the left going downsream traveling as far as we can which is
a log jam and back up to the start. Now and then the river
can have a tree blocking the river. We will try to open these
blocked areas as best we can but this is a very senic course.
Please contact us and join our practices as we believe the
camaraderie of a club, with group practices are often what
creates the
greatest athletes, not to mention great friendships.
